For the past year, "The Green Life" has been a popular weblog about "living well and doing good" by Sierra magazine senior associate editor Jennifer Hattam (most weeks you can hear her dispensing sage green advice on everything from weddings to barbecues on Sierra Club Radio). Now "The Green Life" is also our newest email newsletter. Subscribers will receive one brief tip each weekday about how they can make their lives a little more green.

Want to live healthier, help the planet, and live the good (green) life? You'll need only a few seconds a day.

A Cool Home Tour on NBC
The lights were on, but somebody was home to turn them off when the Sierra Club's Owen Bailey conducted a "Cool Home Tour" in Los Angeles for NBC Nightly News.

Want to pick up some simple home tips for saving both energy and money in less than two minutes? Check out the story on YouTube.

Throw a Party for the Earth
You may have heard about Live Earth -- the 24-hour, seven-continent series of concerts on July 7th. The goal is to bring together more than 100 music artists and 2 billion people to trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis. Fine, but if haven't got tickets for the U.S. show at Giants Stadium, how can you join the party?

By throwing a party! We'll help you set up a house party to watch the show with your friends.

Wind of an Offshore Deal for Delaware
Wind FarmIf a proposed power purchase agreement in Delaware comes to fruition, a 600-megawatt offshore "wind park" may soon supply up to 17 percent of that state's electricity.

On May 22 the Delaware Public Services Commission ordered the state's biggest electricity supplier to negotiate a deal with Bluewater Wind, which has proposed to build 200 turbines -- enough to power 130,000 households -- off the southern Delaware coast. The Sierra Club was instrumental in convincing the public and state lawmakers to support the deal.

    The Return of Stinky
Stinky's back and the Sierra Club's got him! But Stinky's got gas. Or at least, he's got more fuel than expected after driving a fuel-efficient car for a few days. Does saving money at the pump bring out the best in the Stinkster? See for yourself!

     PROTECT

    Tell the Senate: Get Efficient
Consumers could save a total of $26 billion by 2020* if our government adopted an energy-efficiency standard that made better use of the electricity we already produce. We would also save 130,000 megawatts of electricity and 300 million metric tons of global warming CO2.  Sounds like a good idea, doesn't it?

Use the Sierra Club's action center to call your Senators and urge them to support the Schumer-Landrieu Energy Efficiency Resource Standard.
